No matter how I look at it, retro gaming will never die. By hook or by crook they will somehow appear again, even after being abandoned 10 plus years ago. Take this product example, the Sega Mega Drive Twin Pad Player that is soon to be released by AtGames, Sega’s official China distributor. Not only does this dude has 20 built-in games installed, it also plays both original Japan and US region cartridges.

Sega Mega Drive Twin Pad Player

Here’s the list of games that are built-in;

  • Alien Storm
  • Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
  • Altered Beast
  • Arrow Flash
  • Columns III
  • Crack Down
  • Decap Attack
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco
  • Ecco Jr.
  • ESWAT: City Under Siege
  • Flicky
  • Gain Ground
  • Golden Axe
  • Jewel Master
  • Kid Chameleon
  • Shadow Dancer
  • Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
  • Sonic and Knuckles
  • Sonic Spinball

Not exactly the best lineup but it’s has some pretty good stuff there. I always wondered why they never include Bare Knuckle (Streets of Rage) series. That is like one of the best games you can play during that era.

Going off at USD $39.90, the entire package also includes 2 six-button gamepads, av cables and instruction sheet. Not a bad deal actually, especially if you have tons of old sega games tucked somewhere in your house’s twilight zone.

While we are at the topic of retro gaming, don’t forget to check out Play-Asia’s Classic Gaming section. Who knows? You might find something interesting there.

Wii Classic Controller Special Edition

Now this is what I call a nice bundle. An official Nintendo special edition Wii Classic Controller that comes with it’s own protector, a blue colored silicon glove. It beats the hassle of finding a silicon cover separately and the price looks right.

Click here to purchase Wii Classic Controller With Glove @ USD $29.90. At the time of posting there are stocks available at Play-Asia so you don’t have to wait long for it to be shipped out.

The World Ends With You (Nintendo DS)

The World Ends With You

Even before finishing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, I have already made 2 orders (one for Neko) for The World Ends With You, previously known as It’s A Wonderful World (Subarashii kono Sekai) in Japan. The team behind the development of this game is from the Kingdom Hearts series and Jupiter, so we can definitely expect some good stuff here.

I will let Neko do the review as I’m too lazy he has more hands on experience with this game.

Neo Geo Stick 2 for Nintendo Wii

Wii Neo Geo Stick 2

Holy crap! The last time I played Neo Geo games with the actual Neo Geo stick was like over 10 years ago!? Seriously Nintendo is really out to give gamers the closest experience you can get from the old consoles (minus the monkey juggling loading screen .. thank God). There’s nothing like good ol King of Fighters action with the original stick, although I suck at using them. I am more of a gamepad guy tho.

Neo Geo Stick 2 pre-orders are now available at Play-Asia, priced at USD$59.90. Not exactly cheap but it does look pretty slick and solid.

Nintendo, throw in King of Fighters 97 to 2000 into the virtual console lineup and I will consider picking this dude up.
